the Liberating King

i got a copy of the voice a couple weeks ago and DIG IT. wanted to share how they worded romans 5:6-11

when the time was right, our Liberating King died for all of us who were far from God, powerless and weak. now it is rare to find someone willing to die for an upright person, although it’s possible that someone may give up his life for one who is truly good. but think about this: while we were wasting our lives in sin, God revealed His powerful love to us in a tangible display–the Liberating King died for us. as a result, the blood of Jesus has made us right with God now, and at the final judgment, we will be rescued by Him from God’s wrath. if we were in the heat of combat with God when His Son came to reconcile us by laying down His life, then how much more will we be saved by Jesus resurrection life? in fact, we stand now reconciled and at peace with God. that’s why we celebrate in God through our Lord Jesus, the Liberating King.

update-my pop is the one that hooked me up!

all next week

i’m going to try something. something revolutionary. kind of. i’m going to photoblog my week. not sure how exactly i’m going to do it yet. here’s how it will work:

i’ll begin photo-ing this saturday the 22nd. (apologies ahead of time for the lack of quality. it’s going to be my treo camera.) i will then post the picture/pictures each evening, probably late evening. so most of you will see them the next morning. the point-for no other reason than to keep your rss readers happy.

cheers

sporcle

you have GOT to check out this site. i was introduced to it by peeps at work. addicting. thank me later.

flight tracker

the internet is a beautiful tool. and i love to fly. so if i can’t fly, i’ll stalk, i mean track somebody else that is. so check out the second leg of my pops flight from boston, by way of newark, nj. it’s a cool stalker tool.

flight-trackerpretty sad i learned about this from texags, when they were monitoring our airport and who our new bball coach might be a few years ago.

cheers

have you ever been to boston in the fall??

tomorrow morning my pops leaves for the boston, ma (one of my favorite cities. yes i’m extremely jealous. yes i’ve always wanted to visit boston in the fall. yes like the veggietales song. but its still nice in the spring) the trip is with a small group from the singing men of south texas, a group he’s sung with for several years now. they’re doing some mission work, as well as singing at the new england baptist convention. he probably won’t be able to do daily bloggings, but i’m sure he’ll do a recap of some sort.

so if you don’t mind, keep the 30 or so of them in your prayers this week.

soles4souls

kinda sounds like a tim mcgraw/faith hill tour right? well it’s not.

my boy nic burleson has a little challenge going, and i felt it my duty to send the several thousand of you, my readers, over there and help an incredible cause. here’s a bit about it:

It’s this simple: Step up and take the 50,000 Shoes in 50 Days Challenge. For only $5 you can buy two pairs of shoes. For just 5 bucks, you can make a difference in people’s lives. You can put shoes on a person’s feet for the very first time.

so go over there and take nic up on his challenge, but more than that help out somebody in need this Christmas.

cheers

i got to meet…

this guy:

gw

i tweeted about it. i knew it was bound to happen one of these days, he’s a big aggie fan and his presidential library here as well.

we had a basketball game, and i was coming out of our production office off the main hallway of the arena. first i saw a little white haired lady pass by, then i turned and saw george and his secret service detail. i figured i would say hi and he would keep walking by. but he stopped, stuck out his hand and said hello. i said ‘hi how are you’ and he asked me ‘whats going on in there.’ i started to say “just a little magic” but then thought otherwise. so i froze. i dont remember what came out of my mouth. he kept going, and then his secret service detail asked me the names of the coaches, because ‘mr. president wants to know.’ i told them, and they walked away. i stood there. in disbelief.

so sorry. i have no proof. only a story. and this awesome picture from wikipedia.

voting day

i voted. 2 weeks ago. was going to vote by mail, ended up being in town and voted early. got a cool sticker too.

today is also when the fcc votes on the white spaces issue. that determines a lot in the pro audio industry, and may determine whether your wireless microphones will work next year.

if you get tired of news coverage today, check out what the people are saying on twitter.

needless to say, today holds a lot of uncertainty for the future. check out what mark driscoll has to say about all this hoo-ha.
